On Saturday there were reports that indicated that Stanford and Cal, who are awaiting acceptance by the ACC, were looking into joining the Big 12.
The report also revealed that if Stanford and Cal were to join the Big 12, Oregon State and Washington State would be added as well. On Sunday, Action Network's Brett McMurphy denied those reports and maintained that the Big 12 will not be engaging with the remaining four programs.
Earlier in August, Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark said that the Big 12 is "done" with expansion at 16 teams. The Big 12 added four programs from the Pac-12 in Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah after what ended up being the collapse of the Pac-12 as we know it.
