Utah Pursuing Elite Washington State WR Josh Kelly In Transfer Portal
The Utah Utes are certainly confident about where the program is headed when looking ahead to the 2024 season, but they do have a few needs to address which will only help bolster the roster.
With Cam Rising announcing his return for year seven, they have already done their due diligence in finding an adequate backup in case of emergency in 2024, and have reached out to Michigan State quarterback Sam Leavitt. They have also shown some urgency in surrounding Rising with weapons, and according to reports are looking to bring in Washington State star receiver Josh Kelly.
On3's Pete Nakos revealed that while Kelly is set to take a trip to Notre Dame, he has been offered by Utah.
In his lone season in Pullman after coming over from Fresno State, Kelly had 61 catches for 923 yards, and eight touchdowns, all of which were career highs. He became known for acrobatic catches, and according to 247Sports ranks as the No. 30 transfer in the portal.
It certainly would not be shocking if the Utes brought in at least three pass catchers from the portal, and if they landed Kelly, that'd be a heck of a start.
