The storyline of this season has been Utah's injuries, as some 28% or more of the 85 scholarship players have missed time due to an injury this season.

However, of all of the players that have been injured the one that many are making the case that the Utes have missed the most is quarterback Cam Rising. The two-year starter for Utah suffered a knee injury against Penn State in the Rose Bowl, and to the frustrations of head coach Kyle Whittingham hasn't been cleared yet.

Rising himself provided some insight as to what the hold could be while appearing on ESPN 700. He explained that he suffered multiple injuries during the Rose Bowl including a torn ACL and MCL. He also revealed that the surgeon who did the procedure is the only doctor he has consulted about his injury.

James Peterson of ESPN did say that Rising may be able to play as soon as Utah's October 14 matchup against Cal.
