The month of April has turned out to be a recruiting frenzy for the Virginia men's basketball program. Shortly after securing his third transfer commitment in as many weeks, Tony Bennett has zeroed in on another target, this time on the high school recruiting trail. The Cavaliers are in pursuit of Anthony Robinson, a 6'10" power forward in the recruiting class of 2023, and some reports have surfaced saying Robinson is already at UVA for a visit.

Robinson largely flew under the radar during his high school career and garnered offers from more than 20 mid-major programs. He ultimately committed to South Florida back in September and signed a National Letter of Intent (NLI) with the Bulls in November. But after turning in a fourth-consecutive sub-.500 season, South Florida fired head coach Brian Gregory, who went 79-107 in six seasons as head coach of the Bulls.

Robinson requested and was granted a release from his NLI, which allowed him to reopen his recruitment. After an impressive senior season at Christ School in Arden, North Carolina, Robinson has drawn heavy interest from a few major conference programs, including Georgia, Vanderbilt, and Virginia. Robinson led Christ School to a 31-4 overall record and the team's first state championship in 12 years, garnering a selection to the NCISAA all-state team along the way.

Now, it appears that Robinson has become a top priority for the Cavaliers, who are already reportedly hosting the 6'10", 235-pound power forward on Grounds this week.

Though Virginia was dealt some serious blows with the departures of several key players at the end of the season, the Cavaliers have rebounded nicely by bringing in a few quality additions. UVA secured transfer commitments from Merrimack forward Jordan Minor, St. Thomas guard Andrew Rohde, and Oklahoma forward Jacob Groves, in addition to Georgetown guard Dante Harris, who signed with Virginia as a midseason transfer back in December. The Cavaliers are also bringing in a pair of four-star recruits in the class of 2023 in Blake Buchanan and Elijah Gertrude. Now, Tony Bennett and company are making serious efforts to further supplement that recruiting class.

UVA hosted 2023 four-star shooting guard Blue Cain a couple of weeks ago. Penn State, Georgia, and Florida are also in pursuit of the IMG Academy sharpshooter, but the Cavaliers remain in the mix. The visit from Anthony Robinson represents Virginia's latest push to add another quality player to its 2023 recruiting class.

With the current projected roster, Virginia has filled 10 scholarship spots for the 2023-2024 season, 11 if Reece Beekman decides to return. UVA has the capacity to take commitments from both Blue Cain and Anthony Robinson, should they choose the Cavaliers, and potentially even another player if Beekman ultimately decides to remain in the NBA Draft.
