Tony Elliott and the Cavaliers are making a habit out of bringing home Virginia natives through the transfer portal. UVA secured its third transfer commitment of the offseason, and second in one day, as Harvard graduate transfer tight end Tyler Neville announced his commitment to Virginia in a social media post on Monday night.

A 6'4", 235-pound tight end, Neville played his high school football at Lafayette High in Williamsburg, Virginia, where he enjoyed an accomplished career as a football and basketball player. Over the last three years at Harvard, Neville developed into arguably the top tight end in the Ivy League, earning an All-Ivy League First Team selection in each of the last two seasons. Neville posted 24 receptions for 283 yards and four touchdowns in 2023, leading the Crimson to their first Ivy League Championship since 2015. He finished his Harvard career with 62 catches for 698 yards and eight touchdowns in 30 games played.

Seeking to utilize his final year of eligibility, but unable to do so at Harvard due to the Ivy League's strict eligibility rules, Neville entered the transfer portal on November 22nd and immediately picked up several offers, with Virginia being one of the first through the door. Neville also received offers from Boston College, South Carolina, TCU, Houston, Rutgers, UCLA, Colorado, Illinois, and others.

Ultimately, the Cavaliers won that heated recruiting battle. UVA hosted Neville for an official visit two weekends ago and then head coach Tony Elliott and Des Kitchings visited Neville in Massachusetts on Monday, per Wahoos247. Neville's commitment addresses a significant area of need for Virginia, as Grant Misch has exhausted his eligibility and Joshua Rawlings entered the transfer portal earlier on Monday.

Tyler Neville is the third transfer commitment Virginia has picked up this offseason, joining Notre Dame wide receiver and fellow Virginia native Chris Tyree and Akron linebacker Corey Thomas Jr., who announced his commitment to UVA earlier on Monday.
