3-Star Receiver Justice Williams Commits to Washington

The NFL legacy receiver has decided to take his talents to Montlake.

The fact that Justice Williams hasn't received a ranking from the 247 Sports Composite at this point in his recruitment is somewhat surprising. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound product of Oaks Christian High School in Westlake, California has a high ceiling as a receiver and looks like a future star at the college level.

Now he has decided to take his talents to Montlake, choosing the Huskies over 17 other offers. Williams also took official visits to Utah and Syracuse earlier in June before his trip to Seattle to finish off the month.

This is a big win for wide-receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard. While Williams hasn't received a ranking just yet, his film stacks up with any receiver on the West Coast and Shephard has pushed the fact he has a plan to develop him and get him to the NFL, just like his father Roland.

"Coach Shep is a great guy," he told Inside the Huskies. "He's met my whole family, has told me he really likes my size and weight and wants to turn me into an NFL receiver."

Williams becomes the second receiver both in the class and on the day to commit to Washington, following four-star pass catcher Jason Robinson, who announced his decision on Saturday morning.

It appears the Huskies are starting to pick up momentum, following a very slow start to one of the most important recruiting months of the year. There's a lot of smoke coming out of the program that things are happening and more recruits will be following suit very soon.

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
