4-Star Edge Rusher Noah Carter Commits to Washington

The product of Centennial High School has loads of potential.
In this story:

Noah Carter has been a tough player to evaluate throughout his high school career. The newest Washington commit split his time at Centennial High School between wide receiver and edge rusher as a junior, and was productive at both positions.

Now that the 6-foot-3, 225-pound Carter has announced that he'll be playing on the edge for the Huskies, he might receive a bump in his national ranking. While he's rated as a three-star by the 247 Sports Composite, On3.com has him ranked as a four-star prospect and the 211th overall player in the country.

Edge-rushers coach Eric Schmidt and the entire Husky coaching staff did an impressive job reeling in Carter rather quickly and over some big suitors. Louisville and Texas were among the 10 other schools pursuing his services.

Washington is trying to put together a deep defensive-line class and Carter is the second member to officially announce his intentions to join it. The Huskies have been recruiting the state of Arizona very hard recently and Carter becomes the first player from the talent-rich Grand Canyon state to commit to Kalen DeBoer's staff.

After a slow start to the month of June, Washington has hit the ground running to end it. Carter is a talented piece to help kick off the defensive-line class and, with both Bralen Trice and Zion Tupuola-Fetui expected to declare for the 2024 NFL Draft, there's a chance he could see the field early in his career if he impresses the staff once he gets to campus.

I've followed the Huskies for my entire life, and to be in a position where I get to cover them full-time is nothing short of an honor. After graduating from Lasell University in 2019, I moved to Seattle to pursue my dream of working in sports media. While writing for the Husky Haul, I also covered local sports for the Everett Daily Herald before the COVID-19 pandemic. After being hired by Realdawg.com in February of 2021, I also transitioned into doing a lot of entertainment writing, as I work on a variety of magazines as a contributing writer for Centennial Media, and have also contributed to Emmy Magazine, as well as Walt Disney Television Studios.
