The Mountaineers hoist the Big 12 Championship trophy

The West Virginia University baseball program captured its first Big 12 Conference Championship in the final weekend of the regular season, claiming the program's first regular season title since 1996 (Big East). 

On Monday, head coach Randy Mazey carried the Big 12 trophy onto the field at Monongalia County Ballpark and presented it to the team prior to the Mountaineers first practice in preparation for the NCAA tournament where WVU meets the Indiana Hoosiers in the opening round Friday night with the first pitch set for 7:00.
