Spread & Over/Under Predictions for WVU vs. Kansas

Can the Mountaineers cover the spread?

Each game day, we will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of West Virginia games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: Kansas -9.5

4-star play on Kansas covering (-9.5): West Virginia will play a competitive first half or so with the crowd behind them but as the game goes on, Kansas' talent will takeover. This is a really bad matchup for WVU. Hunter Dickinson is going to be a massive problem for them in the paint and if all the attention goes to him, that will leave one of Kansas' sharpshooters wide open on the perimeter. Kansas covers.

Over/Under: 148.5

1-star play on the under: I don't particularly care for this total, but if I had to lean in one direction it would be the under. Kansas has held its opponents to 64 points per game over the last three while West Virginia has averaged 65.2 points in conference play. I can see the Jayhawks pushing or perhaps passing 80, but I'm not as confident in WVU's inconsistent offense.

Last year's picks:

ATS record: 6-11 (38%)

O/U record: 11-6 (63%)

Overall: 17-17 (50%)
