What the ESPN BPI Says About WVU at Texas

Will the Mountaineers get their first win on the road?

West Virginia kicks off a two-game road swing in Texas today, looking for the season sweep of the Longhorns.

According to the ESPN BPI, West Virginia has only a 6.4% chance to win while Texas has a 93.6% chance.

In their previous matchup, Texas turned the ball over 22 times and sent WVU to the free throw line 41 times. Max Abmas and Dylan Disu combined for 50 of the team's 73 points, making 16/29 shots from the field. The Mountaineers had a more balanced offensive attack with four players reaching double figures. Pat Suemnick led the way with 16 points, filling in for the injured Jesse Edwards, who will be available for this matchup.

Texas has dropped three of its last four games, albeit to ranked teams. Sitting at 4-6 in Big 12 Conference play, they can't afford to drop another game to a bottom of the barrel team. Doing so would not only impact their position in the league standings, but also their chances of making the NCAA Tournament.

West Virginia had the past week off and it was much-needed. They finally have the full roster healthy and eligible for the first time this season and having no midweek games not only gave the team the ability to rest, but build chemistry during practice.

The Mountaineers and Longhorns will tip things off at 3 p.m. EST.
