Spread & Over/Under Predictions for WVU at Baylor

Can the Mountaineers cover the spread?

Each week, we will release an article on our thoughts on the spread and the over/under of West Virginia games. The star ratings next to the play describe the overall confidence in that particular play.

Star ratings:

1 Star - Not very confident

2 Star - A little confident

3 Star - Fairly confident

4 Star - Very confident

5 Star - Should be a lock to happen

Spread: West Virginia -9.5

1-star play on West Virginia (-9.5): This line is right about where it should be, maybe a few points shy of where I would have it. West Virginia hasn't had much success in Waco over the years, so even though this should be a one-sided game from start to finish, the Bears will keep it close-ish. Mountaineers get the cover, but not by much.

Over/Under: 54.5

1-star play on the under: It's not been my year predicting totals for West Virginia, but let's try to finish the regular season with a cover. With Blake Shapen likely out, Baylor is going to need to rely on the ground game and that'll help milk the clock which West Virginia will do a good job of themselves. I wouldn't be surprised if this total ends up in the mid-high 40s. Let's rock with the under.

My results:

ATS: 7-4 (60%)

O/U: 3-8 (30%)

Overall: 10-12 (45%)
