Michael Sam is engaged to boyfriend Vito Cammisano, according to TMZ.

Michael Sam is engaged, according to TMZ.

The free agent defensive end recently got engaged to boyfriend Vito Cammisano while in Europe, where the two had been vacationing.

Sam, who just turned 25 on Wednesday, became the first openly gay player to be drafted in the NFL last May, and famously famously kissed Cammisano when he got the news. He was cut by the St. Louis Rams at the end of training camp and would later sign with the Dallas Cowboys practice squad before being released.

He was named the 2013 SEC Defensive Player of the Year while at Missouri. Cammisano also attended Missouri, where he was on the swim team.
