Ned Yost spoke with reporters about his extension from a deer stand

Ned Yost's reward for leading the Royals to their first World Series since 1985 is a one-year contract extension. But Yost was dealing with matters of life and death Tuesday when the Royals announced his extension.

According to the Kansas City Star, Yost is spending his offseason at his home in Georgia hunting and farming in between check-ins with general manager Dayton Moore.
Yost isn't the only MLB manager with an affinity for hunting. At the winter meetings in December, Cubs manager Joe Maddon said, "I like players who shoot things."
