Big news for Dwyane Wade always means lots of mistaken identity tweets for the operator of the @Dwade handle on Twitter.

On Wednesday night news broke that Dwyane Wade would be leaving the Heat after 13 seasons and heading to his hometown of Chicago on a two-year, $47.5 million contract.

Needless to say this was a much talked about topic on Twitter with many fans assuming the Miami star went by the handle @DWade on the social site. Those fans were wrong, which led to a very long, mention-filled night for Dan Wade, a writer who covers the Twins who decided to have some fun with the case of mistaken identity.

He even reached out in solidarity to the man with the @JonJones Twitter handle, who was having a rough night of his own after the UFC star was removed from the MMA outfit’s upcoming pay per view.

While Wade’s timelime got blown up by the news of other Wade’s departure he said it was mostly positive on both the Chicago and Miami sides.

Perhaps Dan Wade will be lucky enough to have the Bulls payroll office make the same mistake in the future.
