Aaron Rodgers Fans Flames as Rumor Mill Links Him to Raiders

The quarterback is hearing a lot of recruiting from fans at Pebble Beach this weekend.

The biggest story of the NFL offseason is the future of Aaron Rodgers, as the four-time MVP could be headed for a career-altering trade. As the Packers and Rodgers decide the best way to move forward, rumors continue to swirl around which teams could try to acquire the veteran.

Over the weekend, Rodgers participated in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, which marked his first public appearance since the Packers’ season ended. After Rodgers’s Saturday round, CBS reporter Amanda Balionis Renner asked the star quarterback about possible destinations beyond Green Bay.

“[There are] a lot of people yelling different teams they want me to come to next year,” Rodgers said of fans at the Pebble Beach tournament. “The predominant team that we hear as we’re walking is Raiders, a lot Raiders fans encouraging me, a lot of ‘Davante misses you’ comments.”

The Rodgers-to-the-Raiders storyline has picked up steam recently, as Las Vegas prepares to move on from current quarterback Derek Carr. Wide receiver Davante Adams, who played in Green Bay with Rodgers for eight years before joining the Raiders in 2022, tweeted an indication that he would like a reunion in Las Vegas.

Raiders fans then recruited Rodgers at Pebble Beach, which led to an exchange between Rodgers and a fan over Adams’s tweet.

While Rodgers kept the door open on joining Las Vegas, he pretty much shut the door on possibly joining the 49ers. The Jets, another team rumored to be interested in Rodgers, in part because they hired Nathaniel Hackett, also remain a potential target for both Rodgers and Carr.
