Sports World Reacts to Jake Paul, Tommy Fury Fight

The boxing showdown drew some eye-opening reviews.

Tommy Fury and Jake Paul finally squared off in their exhibition boxing match on Sunday, and it was well worth the wait as the British boxer emerged victorious against his counterpart.

After eight rounds, Fury, who is the younger brother of renowned boxing legend Tyson Fury, was declared the champion. Considering how heavily marketed the fight was and the number of people interested to see how things played out, Twitter had an absolute field day after Fury was crowned the winner via split decision.

Reactions came from plenty of people, and here are some of the best Twitter had to offer in the aftermath of the Fury-Paul showdown.

YouTuber KSI was among the first to weigh in on the fight, indicating he wasn't impressed by either party in the bout.

Paul finally got into the ring with a real boxer on Sunday, and it didn’t go as he’d planned.

Immediately after the fight, Paul was ready with some excuses for the loss and stated he didn’t agree with the decision from the scorekeepers. Fortunately for him, he has a rematch clause in the fight contract with Fury, so a second meeting is certainly a possibility.

Skip Bayless doesn’t think he’ll fare too much better given another shot against the younger Fury sibling.

Not everyone was quick to ridicule Paul for his loss. Odell Beckham Jr. was among those who expressed they were impressed with the upstart boxer’s performance in the ring.

Despite all their bad blood leading up to the fight, Fury had nothing but respect for Paul in the aftermath.

After months of cancellations and delays, the fight lived up to the billing on Sunday, with Fury handing Paul his first-ever loss against a “real” boxer.
