Boston College WR Dino Tomlin Has Hilarious Reaction to Dad Mike Asking for NFL Draft Intel
Like many personnel around the NFL, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin has spent the last few months gathering intel in preparation for the 2023 NFL draft. But, apparently, Tomlin’s search for information didn’t include insight from one source he likely hoped to rely on: his son, Boston College wide receiver Dino Tomlin.
As the NFL gears up for Day 1 of the draft on Thursday, the elder Tomlin disclosed to reporters Monday that Dino, who spent his first three years at Maryland, hasn’t exactly been forthcoming in terms of contributing to any sort of evaluations. And, considering that the redshirt senior has played for two D-I programs, it’s not hard to understand why Tomlin spotted his potential as a future scout.
“I don’t get any, any info from my son, particularly professional information,” Tomlin said, via ESPN’s Brooke Pryor.
The veteran coach’s remarks drew a number of responses from fans on social media, which, as you might’ve guessed, eventually made it’s way back to Dino. After catching wind of his father’s comments, the Eagles receiver shared a hilarious reaction in response to why he’s been withholding intel.
Tomlin tweeted, “I don’t work for their scouting department… you think I would give my expert opinion FOR FREE?!”
While it’s clear that Mike would’ve liked to hear his son’s perspective on this year’s class, he’ll likely still be more than prepared when he steps into Pittsburgh’s war room in three days. As for Dino, the promising receiver can take whatever info he held onto and apply it to his preparation for next season as he looks to help fill the void left by the departure of touted wideout prospect Zay Flowers.
