DeAndre Hopkins Posts a Bold First Message After Signing With Titans

The wide receiver had something to say to his doubters after making his free agency decision.

Veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins agreed to join the Titans in free agency on Sunday. The two-year, $26 million deal will keep Hopkins in Tennessee through the 2024 NFL season.

After putting pen to paper on his new contract, Hopkins took to social media with a message for his fans and haters.

“I always loved having haters and doubters but I appreciate it even more now. Titan up!!” Hopkins wrote in a tweet.

Hopkins made clear that he’s looking to prove his doubters wrong following his move to Tennessee, where he figures to be the first option at wide receiver. Who will be throwing him the ball is a bit less clear; the Titans currently roster Ryan Tannehill, rookie Will Levis and 2022 third-round pick Malik Willis.

The 31-year-old was released by the Cardinals earlier in the offseason.

Before his deal with the Titans, Hopkins had been linked to various other teams in free agency, including the Chiefs and Patriots.

Last season in Arizona, Hopkins missed six games due to a suspension and a handful more to injury. He featured in nine games, registering 64 receptions, 717 yards and three touchdowns.
