Brian Harman finished his dominant play at the British Open with a solid one-under par, 70 in Sunday’s final round, which gave him a stunning six-shot victory and the first major championship of his career. 

Harman, who had some fun celebration plans for Sunday night, got off to a slow start in Saturday’s third round and was often heckled by fans at Royal Liverpool. After his win, Harman revealed the one mean thing a fan said to him that inspired him to turn things around and finish the tournament in style. 

Harman said after his second bogey on Saturday he walked past a fan who said, “Harman, you don’t have the stones for this.” That fired him up:

Yup, that certainly did help.
