Jaylen Brown's future with Boston has been up for discussion for months.

A little over three weeks ago there was a "report" suggesting that an anonymous NBA executive thought the Timberwolves were among the teams the Boston Celtics could potentially work out a trade involving All-Star guard Jaylen Brown.

Take it for what it's worth, but the idea picked up some momentum Tuesday night when Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards attended Game 4 between the Celtics and Heat and was later spotted talking and laughing with Brown.

Only Edwards and Brown know what their discussion was about, but one creative Twitter who goes with the username @Kgformvp211 gave both teams something to laugh about by doing voiceovers to create a mock conversation between the two.

Edwards

: That's what I'm saying you gotta come to Minnesota. We got hotdish. We got hot fries, you know, we got it all.

Brown

: But what would you trade me for?

Edwards

: Bro, you see what Tim Connelly got for D'Lo and stuff? Come on, man, you know what we going to do. Bring a jacket though.

Brown

: Bet.

Edwards

: We'll keep KAT, we'll keep Rudy. Tim Connelly will work it out baby.

Brown

: Better not hold me back.

Edwards

: Bro, D'Lo don't even know how to spell held back, you know what I'm saying? Rudy will even teach you French. And every wall is padded.

If you're confused, here's more context on Edwards's love for hot fries, D'Angelo Russell saying the Timberwolves held him back and Jaden McDaniels punching a curtain that hid a concrete wall

In the real world, any trade to acquire Brown would likely mean the Timberwolves have to part with Karl-Anthony Towns, who is extremely difficult to deal because he's a supermax player set to make $50+ million each of the next three seasons.

Brown is set to earn $31.8 million in 2023-24 before becoming a free agent (and likely supermax player) in the Summer of 2024. Because Brown was voted second team All-NBA this season, the Celtics can offer him a supermax extension with a value of $295 million over five years. No other team can offer Brown the supermax.

Complicating the situation for Boston is that Jayson Tatum is also eligible to receive a supermax extension next season as well. Can Boston afford all that?
