Cam Akers placed on IR, Tanner Morgan back with the Vikings
The Vikings have officially placed running back Cam Akers on injured reserve after suffering a season-ending Achilles injury in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Falcons.
Akers had rushed for 138 yards on 38 carries since joining the Vikings in September. Minnesota traded a conditional sixth-round pick to Los Angeles for the fourth year back and a conditional seventh-round pick.

Morgan, currently an offensive analyst with the Gophers, is joining the Vikings for the second time this season. The rookie QB previously was on the active roster in the week leading up to the Week 5 game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The 24-year-old QB was an undrafted free agent signing by the Steelers after five-years quarterbacking the Gophers. Morgan through for 9,469 yards, 65 touchdowns and 32 interceptions while leading Minnesota to a 31-14 record as starter.
