The latest slate of Group of Five football returns to the field early this week as we get a sneak preview of college football's Week 7 action today. Tuesday brings us two games from Conference USA and a primetime matchup in the Sun Belt, with one team looking to get its first league win against a would-be contender for the conference title.

The Game: MTSU is still looking for its first win in Conference USA play, losing its first two games in the league and at 1-5 overall, allowing over 30 points in its last three and allowing over 250 yards in the air on defense. Tech is 2-1 in the conference, playing strong against the pass, but generous against the run, permitting 212 yards on average.


Liberty at Jacksonville State

The Game: A battle between the top two teams in Conference USA. Liberty leads the way at 5-0 overall and 3-0 in the league, plugging away with a balanced offense that combines for over 490 yards per game and playing strong defense, allowing under 197 yards in the air and fewer than 117 on the ground. State is 5-1 overall and 3-0 in conference, with a strong ground game and an even stronger run defense.


Coastal Carolina at App State
Tues., Oct. 10 | 7:30 p.m. | ESPN2
Line: App State -6

The Game: Coastal is last in the division at 0-2 in conference play, allowing over 30 points in both those losses, struggling to build a threatening rushing attack posting just 140 yards per game. App State is 1-0 in the Sun Belt and 3-2 overall working with a strong defensive unit allowing under 190 yards both in the air and on the ground while quarterback Joey Aguilar is a 60% passer for a balanced attack that goes over 204 yards on the ground per game.
