Thursday night football returns to campus this week with a trio of games on the college football schedule in addition to the weekly NFL mid-week matchup. On the college front, we'll see a pair of games featuring Conference USA teams and another out of the AAC as a prelude to this weekend's slate.

College football games on TV today: Thursday night football schedule

MTSU at Western Kentucky
Thurs., Sept. 28 | 7:30 p.m. | CBSSN
Line: WKU -6.5
FPI pick: WKU 69% to win

MTSU: The Blue Raiders are 5th in Conference USA in total offense with 359 total yards per game and 4th in the league with 231 passing yards per game, led by quarterback Nicholas Vattiato, who has 916 yards and 7 TDs and is a 70% passer.

WKU: Austin Reed is 1st in the league with 1,071 total passing yards and 268 passing yards per game with nine touchdowns. The Hilltoppers are 2nd in CUSA with 31.8 points per game.


Temple at Tulsa
Thurs., Sept. 28 | 7:30 p.m. | ESPN
Line: Tulsa -3.5
FPI pick: Tulsa 65.3% to win

Temple: The Owls play a decent passing game behind quarterback E.J. Warner, who has 1,000 yards and five touchdowns, aided by lead receiver Amad Anderson, Jr., who had 10 catches for 117 yards in the loss at Miami.

Tulsa: The Golden Hurricane lost to Washington and Oklahoma by a combined score of 109 to 27, but rebounded with a win at Northern Illinois in which Anthony Watkins ran for 93 yards on 21 carries with a touchdown.


Jacksonville State at Sam Houston
Thurs., Sept. 28 | 8 p.m. | ESPNU
Line: JSU -6.5
FPI pick: JSU 64.2% to win

Jax State: The Gamecocks (3-1) earn most of their 355 yards per game by running the ball, as Malik Jackson leads the side with 376 and 2 TDs for a backfield that posts 232 yards per game on the ground.

Sam Houston: The Bearkats have yet to win a game this season thanks to an anemic offense averaging under 150 total yards per game, including just 42 on the ground and has scored a combined 10 points in three games.
