College football schedule 2023: SEC on CBS games, times announced
Key pieces of the 2023 college football schedule are coming together as we enter the summer portion of the preseason calendar, and now some of the most high-profile games on the slate have been announced as CBS has revealed many of the matchups and kickoff times for several SEC games this coming season.
This season's "SEC on CBS" schedule premieres on Sept. 16, when the back-to-back College Football Playoff national champion takes the field against rising SEC East contender South Carolina as Georgia kicks off its title defense with an important first step in pulling off college football's first three-peat since the 1930s.
Georgia returns some of the nation's top defensive talent despite another class of NFL departures and, though it has to install a new quarterback, also brings back what might be the best offense head coach Kirby Smart has ever had at his alma mater. South Carolina returns quarterback Spencer Rattler and is coming off a late-season surge in 2022 when it defeated Tennessee and Clemson in statement upsets.
CBS will show SEC football double-headers on Oct. 14 and Nov. 4 and wraps up the season with the annual SEC Championship Game from Atlanta on Dec. 2.
