Jeremiah Smith, the No. 1 ranked wide receiver and consensus five-star prospect in the 2024 college football recruiting rankings, is currently committed to Ohio State, but ever since the announcement that top-ranked quarterback Dylan Raiola pledged to national champion Georgia, Smith is taking a new look at the Bulldogs.

That newfound interest culminated in a visit to Georgia over last weekend, where he had a chance to meet Raiola and other UGA prospects in person, and kicked off the speculation machine all over again that Smith could flip his commitment to the back-to-back defending national champions.

"I thought taking visits was part of the recruiting process," Smith posted on Twitter in a now-deleted message in response to some of the concern fans had over his pledge.

Smith hasn't been private about his rekindled interest in Georgia since Raiola made his commitment to the Bulldogs in recent days.

"Georgia getting Dylan means a lot to me and my interest in them," Smith told On3 Sports of Raiola's decision back in mid-May.

And then he added one major admission: "I have to really give Georgia a look now that they have Dylan."

That look led to the visit to Athens and definitively keeps Georgia in the race to procure the services of the consensus top wide receiver in the 2024 cycle.

All of which isn't ideal for Ohio State, which, despite Georgia's overtures to its top recruit, is still believed to have a deep and committed relationship with Smith, thanks to the work of top Buckeyes recruiter and offensive coordinator Brian Hartline.

But if there's one school that could lure Smith out of his pledge to Ohio State, it would be Georgia, which has been in pursuit of the receiver for some time, and now in the form of Raiola has the perfect bargaining chip to pull off the flip.
