Cincinnati Reds rookie Elly De La Cruz hasn't even played a month in the big leagues yet and he may already be the most exciting player in the league.

Playing against the Atlanta Braves on Friday night, De La Cruz made some history after hitting his third homer of the year. He added to his history by hitting for the cycle.

Per Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

this is Elly De La Cruz’s 15th career game

that’s the 3rd-fewest career games at the time of a player’s first career cycle, among those to debut since 1900, behind only:

6/13/1918 Cliff Heathcote: 6

9/18/1980 Gary Ward: 14

De La Cruz is just a special player for a team in the midst of a special run. Because De La Cruz hasn't played enough games to exhaust his prospect status yet, he's currently the No. 3 prospect in the sport.

At the time of this posting, the Reds lead the Braves, 11-7, in the seventh inning. If the Reds win, it will be their 12th straight win. A loss would snap the Braves eight-game winning streak.

De La Cruz is currently 4-4 and is now hitting .367 in his young career. While he's centerpiece of the Reds attention, he's not the only young player contributing. Matt McLain, Andrew Abbott, Brandon Williamson and Spencer Steer are all contributing.

The Reds entered play at 40-35 and are looking to add to that. They were 1.5 games ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers entering play.

The Reds have two more games with the Braves in this series.
