The Seattle Mariners beat their arch-enemies, the Houston Astros, on Friday night by a score of 2-0.

The Mariners had a very difficult time cashing in offensively, going 0-17 with runners in scoring position, but they did get two solo home runs in the win, including one from superstar Julio Rodriguez.

Rodriguez had an incredible series against the Kansas City Royals in which he made multiple instances of baseball history, but he went 4-for-5 on Friday and made even more history.

Julio Rodríguez is the 7th player since 1900 to record 13 hits in a 3-game span. 

He's the only one of those 7 players to also record 4 stolen bases.

Rodriguez stole two bases on Friday in the win, but he wasn't done re-writing the record books.

Julio Rodríguez is: 

- the youngest since 1901 with 3 straight 4-hit games 

- the 1st Mariner with 3 straight 4-hit games 

- 1 game shy of tying 1925 Milt Stock at 4 for most consecutive 4-hit games since 1901

And finally, Rodriguez also put himself in Mariners history. As he was 3-for-3 on Friday night, he had recorded a hit in nine consecutive at-bats, tying a team record. His streak was snapped after he reached on an error.

Rodriguez is now hitting .274 this season with 21 homers, 79 RBI and 32 stolen bases. He's got a .793 OPS.

The Mariners are a season-high 12 games over .500 at 67-55 and lead the chase for the final wild card spot in the American League by 0.5 games.

They'll play the Astros on Saturday night at 7:10 p.m. ET.
