Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani hit a 493-foot home run on Friday night that was the longest home run hit by any player in baseball this season.

That helped put the capper on an amazing June for Ohtani, who seemed to make baseball history every single day.

A look at his month, per @OptaSTATS on Twitter:

Final offensive numbers for the @Angels' Shohei Ohtani in June 2023:

 25 extra-base hits

21 walks

15 home runs

He's the first player in MLB history to have at least 25 extra-base hits, 20 walks and 15 home runs in a single month.

And then there's this, from Sarah Langs of MLB.com:

most HR hit in calendar month, made multiple pitching starts, MLB history:

2023 June Shohei Ohtani: 15

2021 June Shohei Ohtani: 13

It has been the year of Ohtani for sure. He helped Team Japan win the World Baseball Classic in the spring, has the Angels fighting for their first playoff spot since 2014, is set up to win the MVP award for the second time, and is heading for a $500-600 million payday this offseason.

The generational talent is now hitting .310 on the season with a league-best 30 homers. He also has 67 RBI and 11 stolen bases and will be starting in the All-Star Game for the American League.

On the mound, Ohtani is 7-3 with a 3.02 ERA. He's struck out a whopping 127 batters in 95.1 innings.

The Angels are now 44-40 and will take on the Diamondbacks on Saturday at 10:07 p.m. ET.
