Miami Marlins infielder Luis Arraez is the talk of the baseball world right now.

After going 2-4 on Tuesday night in a win over the Kansas City Royals, Arraez is now hitting .401 on the season. He's seeking to become the first major league player to hit .400 in a season since Ted Williams hit .406 back in 1941.

We chronicled that here.

In addition to that, there's more impressive stats that have been shared about his pursuit of history.

First, from ESPN Stats and Info:

Luis Arraez went 2-4 in the Marlins' win over the Royals tonight. Arraez is now hitting .401 on the season, making him the 1st player to be batting .400 or better 62 team games into a season since Chipper Jones in 2008 (.421).

Chipper Jones is in the Baseball Hall of Fame, so any time that you can link up with him in a stat, it's noteworthy. Jones ended up hitting .364 that season and won the batting title.

James Smyth of the YES Network also posted an amazing stat about Arraez's pursuit of history vs. Williams'.

Arraez has already faced 115 pitchers this season. Williams faced 74 (and there were only 111 pitchers in the entire 1941 American League season)

That might be the most amazing thing of all. It's just a different game now. Pitchers throw harder, they throw more offspeed stuff, and you have less familiarity with them. That makes what Arraez has done all that more impressive.

The Marlins will play the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night at 6:10 p.m. ET.
