One day after going viral for the "water funnel" home run celebration against the Oakland Athletics, the Baltimore Orioles are at it again, this time with a "sprinkler" celebration after a double.

You can watch the highlight here.

Last night's celebration hero was Ryan Mountcastle, and tonight's was left-fielder Austin Hays.

Hays hit a double of A's starter Kyle Muller to lead off the bottom of the first. When he got to second, he did the sprinkler celebration, with several members of the Orioles dugout spitting water back in his direction.

The Orioles won 83 games a year ago and fought for a playoff spot until the final weeks of the regular season. If they are going to contend for a playoff berth again this year, they just may need to have that extra "fun" factor, and they are bringing just that in the early going of the season.

Hays, 27, is one of the guys who has been in Baltimore through the lean years. He's spent parts of six years with Baltimore, debuting in 2017. He became a regular in the COVID 2020 season, playing in 33 of the 60 games. In 2021, he really became a true full-time guy, playing in 131 games.

He's a career .257 hitter with 49 home runs and 165 RBI. In the early going this year, he's hitting .278 through 36 at-bats, with two homers, four RBI and a stolen base.

At the time of this posting, the Orioles and A's are  tied at 2-2. Baltimore entered play at 5-5 while the A's were 2-8.

The O's celebrations at their expense isn't the only bad thing to happen to the A's lately. Starting LF and slugger Seth Brown will miss the next 4-6 weeks with an oblique injury.
