The Boston Red Sox got another win on Monday night, beating the Toronto Blue Jays, 6-5.

The win moved the Red Sox to 16-14 on the season and put them ahead of the New York Yankees (15-15) in the American League East standings. The Sox are still in fourth, but anytime you are ahead of the Yankees, that's a good thing.

The Sox got the win in walk-off fashion thanks to a home run by outfielder Alex Verdugo. It's not Verdugo's first walk-off this season; he had a memorable one against the Twins that you can watch here. He actually has three walk-off hits now in total.

You can see tonight's walk off below.

Verdugo is making history for the Red Sox in the early going.

According to a tweet shared from the ESPN Stats & Info account:

"Alex Verdugo joins Andruw Jones (ATL in 1999) and Bobby Bonds (SF in 1973) as the only players with 3+ walk-off hits in their teams first 30 games of a season since RBI became official in 1920."

Verdugo seems to finally be reaching the potential the Red Sox saw in him when they acquired him. The centerpiece of the Mookie Betts trade with the Dodgers in 2020, Verdugo is hitting .311 with five home runs and 18 RBI. He also has two stolen bases. He's been a catalyst for the Red Sox at the top of the order, especially with Trevor Story out until likely July.

For his career, he's a .288 hitter with 49 home runs.

The Red Sox and Blue Jays will play again Tuesday at 7:10 p.m. ET.
