Chicago Cubs pitcher Marcus Stroman is ready for Opening Day.

Wednesday, he expressed his gratitude on Twitter, being the club's Opening Day starting pitcher.

Wednesday morning, the Marquee Sports Network, the Cubs' official television channel and home for all of the team's games, tweeted a hype video for Stroman's Opening Day start. The tweet reads, "Wrigley is going to be loud when @STRO takes the ball tomorrow!"

Stroman quote-tweeted the tweet from Marquee and added some thoughts of his own.

"Thankful for the moment and the endless amount of love/energy from the @Cubs fans!" Stroman tweeted.

Stroman will be making the third Opening Day start of his career, his first as a member of the Cubs, and his first at Wrigley Field. Stroman made his first start on Opening Day in 2016 as a member of the Toronto Blue Jays, in the club's Opening Day game against the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field. Stroman also took the hill on Opening Day 2019, in his final season with the Blue Jays. He was traded that July to the New York Mets for Anthony Kay and Simeon Woods Richardson.

The Cubs signed a three-year, $71 million contract with the Cubs in December 2021. Stroman posted a 6-7 record and 3.50 ERA over 25 starts and 138.2 innings pitched in his first season with the club.

Kyle Hendricks was the Cubs Opening Day starting pitcher for the last three seasons. However, a shoulder injury will have Hendricks on the Injured List to begin the season. Stroman will take the reigns in what could be the final year of his contract. He has a player option upon the conclusion of the 2023 season.

Stroman will have Jameson Taillon, Justin Steele, Drew Smyly and Hayden Wesneski pitching behind him, competing the Cubs' five-man pitching rotation.

Stroman will take the mound Thursday with 2021 National League Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes on the opposite side for the Brewers. First pitch is set for 2:20 p.m. ET.
