Players have reported to spring training, and spring training games will start being played later this week.

The New York Mets will play their first spring training games Saturday, February 25. The Mets will play a pair of split squad games, with half of their team playing the Houston Astros in West Palm Beach at 12:05 p.m. ET and the other half playing at the Mets spring training home at Clover Park in St. Lucie County, Florida, against the Miami Marlins at 5:05 p.m.

Here's a look at the Mets' entire spring training schedule:

The Mets will play exhibition games against Team Nicaragua (March 8) and Team Venezuela (March 9) in the lead-up to the 2023 World Baseball Classic.

14 of the Mets' spring training games will air on SNY. The Mets could potentially have other games televised on ESPN and/or MLB Network.

Here's a look at the Mets' television broadcast schedule:

The Mets had a very active offseason, signing free agent starting pitchers Justin Verlander, Kodai Senga and Jose Quintana, re-signing center fielder Brandon Nimmo, and extending Edwin Diaz and Jeff McNeil.

The Mets are coming off a 101-win season, in which they made their first trip to the postseason since 2016. The club led the National League East for much of the season, but squandered a 10.5-game lead over the Atlanta Braves in the final days of the regular season.

The Mets hope to build upon their success in 2023, and will try to win their first division title since 2015. The Braves have won the NL East five straight years and counting.
