Starting Lineups, Pitchers for Chicago Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds Game Tuesday
The Chicago Cubs will play the Cincinnati Reds Tuesday night at 6:40 p.m. ET in game two of their three-game series at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati.
The Reds took game one of the series Monday night, 7-6. The Reds are off to a 3-1 start to open the season, while the Cubs have lost three straight since defeating the Milwaukee Brewers at Wrigley Field on Opening Day.
The Cubs hope to snap their losing skid with rookie Hayden Wesnesky making his first start of the 2023 season. Wesneski pitched well down the stretch of last season, after receiving a call-up in the late summer. Prior to last summer's trade deadline, the Cubs acquired Wesnesky from the New York Yankees in exchange for relief pitcher Scott Effross.
Wesnesky earned a spot in the club's starting rotation over Adrian Sampson and Javier Assad, thanks to an impressive showing at spring training.
Luis Cessa will make his first start of the season Tuesday, for the Reds.
