The St. Louis Cardinals will look to bounce back from Monday's 6-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks when the two teams meet again Tuesday night at 7:45 p.m. ET at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri.
Despite entering the season as heavy favorites to repeat as National League Central champions, the Cardinals find themselves in dead last in the division. The Cardinals (7-10) are five games back of the Milwaukee Brewers (12-5) for the division lead.
Jordan Montgomery (2-1, 2.45 ERA) will take the mound for St. Louis Tuesday night. Montgomery has excelled since the club acquired him in a trade with the New York Yankees for center fielder Harrison Bader last summer at the trade deadline.
Drey Jameson (2-0, 1.46 ERA) will start for the Diamondbacks, as his club tries to clinch another series victory. The Diamondbacks enter Tuesday standing at 10-7, in first place in the National League West. Arizona has a two-game lead on the Los Angeles Dodgers, who are in second place.
