Starting Lineups, Starting Pitchers for Arizona Diamondbacks vs. St. Louis Cardinals Game Wednesday
The Arizona Diamondbacks will try for a sweep of the St. Louis Cardinals Wednesday afternoon at 12:15 p.m. ET at Busch Stadium, in the series finale of a three-game stand in St. Louis, Missouri.
The Diamondbacks exploded for a combined 15 runs in the first two games of the series Monday and Tuesday, winning both games. The club enters Wednesday standing at 11-7, in sole possession of first place in the National League East.
The Cardinals have dug themselves into an early hole, currently in last place in the National League Central with an 7-11 record.
Three-time World Series champion Madison Bumgarner (0-2, 7.90 ERA) will make his fourth start of the season Wednesday for the Diamondbacks.
26-year-old Jake Woodford (0-2, 5.65 ERA) will take the mound for the Cardinals Wednesday, trying for his first win of the season. Woodford pitched primarily out of the Cardinals' bullpen last season, but opened this year in the club's pitching rotation, with Adam Wainwright on the shelf with a groin strain.
