Starting Lineups, Starting Pitchers for Colorado Rockies vs. Cleveland Guardians Game Monday
The Colorado Rockies (6-17) will open a three-game series with the Cleveland Guardians (11-11) at Progressive Field Monday evening at 6:10 p.m. ET.
The Guardians are trying to get out of a funk, having lost five of their last seven games, while dropping their last two series to the Miami Marlins and Detroit Tigers. The Rockies enter Monday in last place in the National League West, six games back of the division-leading Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers.
Austin Gomber (0-4, 12.12 ERA) will take the mound Monday for the Rockies, hoping to pick up his first win of the season. The Rockies acquired him two years ago in a trade with the St. Louis Cardinals, in which Colorado shipped away All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado for a package of prospects and young players. Gomber was a part of the Rockies' return for Arenado. Gomber posted a 5-7 record and 5.56 ERA in 2022.
Cal Quantrill (1-1, 4.15 ERA) will make his fifth start of the season Monday, as Guardians manager Terry Francona will give him the ball in the series opener.
