Starting Lineups, Starting Pitchers for Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Pittsburgh Pirates Game Tuesday
The Los Angeles Dodgers (12-11) will open a three-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates (16-7) Tuesday evening at 6:35 p.m. at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The Pirates have been one of baseball's best stories in the early going of the 2023 season. Picked by most experts to finish near the bottom of the National League Central, the Buccos have the best record in the National League. With a win Tuesday evening, the club would improve to 17-7, ten games above .500. Pittsburgh hasn't posted a winning season since 2018, and last made the playoffs in 2015, losing to the Chicago Cubs in the National League Wild Card game.
The Dodgers are off to a slow start to the season, but after taking three of four from the Chicago Cubs, the club may be beginning to heat up. Noah Syndergaard (0-3, 4.91 ERA) will try to shake his early struggles and pick up his first win of the season when he takes the mound for the Dodgers Tuesday night. Johan Oviedo (2-1, 2.22 ERA) will start for the Pirates.
