Starting Lineups, Starting Pitchers for Texas Rangers vs. Cincinnati Reds Game Monday
The Texas Rangers (14-7) will open a three-game series with the Cincinnati Reds (7-15) at the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio Monday evening at 6:40 p.m. ET.
The Rangers and Reds enter Monday in opposite positions in their respective divisions. Projected by many to finish near the bottom of the National League Central coming into the season, the Reds find themselves alone in the basement of the division. Meanwhile, the Rangers, whom many around the sport believed would finish near in third or fourth place in 2023, have greatly impressed through the season's first three and a half weeks, leading the American League West with a 14-7 record.
Nathan Eovaldi (2-2, 5.40 ERA) will take the mound Monday evening for the Rangers. The club signed Eovaldi to a two-year contract over the winter. Eovaldi will make his fifth start with his new club Monday night.
Former TCU star Nick Lodolo (2-1, 4.98 ERA) will start for the Reds Monday. Both Lodolo and Eovaldi are off to slow starts to begin the season, with ERA's near 5.00. The season is still young though, and Monday both pitchers hope to turn a corner.
