After winning on Monday night on a walk-off home run against the Reds, the Atlanta Braves are at it again on Tuesday, with first baseman Matt Olson lashing a home run in the bottom of the first inning. This shot put the Braves up 1-0.

The blast off of Luis Cessa went out at a rocketing 118.6 miles per hour and can be seen below. It was a center cut fastball that was thrown at 90 mph.

According to Sarah Langs of MLB.com, that home run was the hardest hit home run by the Braves ever in the StatCast era, which dates back to 2015.

Olson, acquired from the Oakland Athletics prior to the 2022 season, is hitting .349 in the early going this season, with four home runs and 12 RBI. He's got an OPS of 1.216.

For his career, he's a .251 hitter with 180 career homers. He's in his eighth major league season, having debuted with Oakland back in 2016. He's one of several A's stars to have been traded in recent offseasons, joining Matt Chapman, Chris Bassitt, and Sean Manaea.

At the time of this posting, the Braves and Reds are tied at 1-1 in the top of the third inning. The Braves entered play at 7-4 while the Reds were 4-5.

Olson's signature blast isn't the only news of the day for Atlanta, who received word that right-handed pitcher Ian Anderson will miss the rest of the season with Tommy John surgery. We also received updates on the health of Max Fried, Raisel Iglesias and Travis d'Arnaud.
