Reigning National League Rookie of the Year and Atlanta Braves center fielder Michael Harris continued to build upon his impressive 2022 campaign, robbing 2022 NL MVP Paul Goldschmidt of a hit and making a remarkable catch in center field at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri Wednesday afternoon.

The Braves picked up their fifth victory of the 2023 season, completing a three-game sweep of the Cardinals, on the road. The Braves round out a six-game road trip, losing just one game and beginning the season at 5-1. They will play their home opener at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia Thursday, with the San Diego Padres coming to town.

The Padres broke through in 2022, winning their first playoff series since 1998 and reaching the National League Championship Series after defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers in four games in the NLDS. The Padres and Braves will play a four-game series in Atlanta, then the Cincinnati Reds will come to town.

With their loss Wednesday, the Cardinals remain in last place in the National League Central, now standing at 2-4. They hope to right their ship this weekend, playing a three-game road series at American Family Field in Milwaukee against the Brewers. It will be the first meeting between the Brewers and Cardinals this season. The Cardinals entered the season as heavy favorites to repeat as division champions in what is expected to be a weak NL Central. The Brewers led the division for much of the first half of last season, but fell out of the playoffs entirely over the final two months of the season.
