White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito carried a no-hitter into the seventh inning, but was pulled from Tuesday night's game against the Philadelphia Phillies after throwing 102 pitches.

Despite allowing no runs and no hits and walking just one batter over six innings, Giolito did not outlast the opposing starting pitcher, as Phillies manager Rob Thomson allowed Bailey Falter to pitch into the seventh inning, trying to keep Tuesday's game from getting out of hand, with the Phillies trailing 3-0.

Giolito's pitch count ran too high, and White Sox manager Pedro Grifol opted not to have Giolito return for the seventh inning, calling upon relief pitcher Kendall Graveman in his place. Graveman made quick work of the Phillies' lineup: three up, three down.

Graveman would pass the baton to reliever Aaron Bummer, who gave up the game's first hit.

Giolito has bounced back nicely, after getting knocked around in his first two starts of the season. Giolito allowed nine earned runs off 17 hits, one walk and two home runs over nine innings in his first two starts of the season. In his two starts since, Giolito has allowed just one run off five hits and two walks over 12 innings pitched.
