San Diego Padres outfielder Juan Soto is not too fond of the pitch clock, which Major League Baseball introduced this season.

MLB rolled out a number of rule changes in 2023, including restrictions on defensive shifts, larger bases and the addition of the pitch clock.

During ESPN's broadcast of Sunday Night Baseball, the network aired an interview that ESPN's Eduardo Perez did with Soto and Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr.

Perez asked Soto what the biggest adjustment in 2023 has been for Soto, given the rule changes.

"I mean it's gotta be the time clock - the pitch clock, whatever you call it," Soto said. "I don't like it at all. I mean, you gotta go quick. You have no time to think. Sometimes you don't want to go on the game speed, you want to go on you speed. And you want to relax, come down and do your thing, but now with that pitch clock there's nothing you can do anymore. You just gotta go out there and play."

Soto's teammate Manny Machado was recently ejected from a game following a pitch clock violation. Tim Anderson also was ejected for arguing after he received a similar call in a game against the San Francisco Giants last week.

The Padres took care of business over the weekend, taking three of four from the Braves in Atlanta's first series at Truist Park of the season. The Padres enter play Monday tied for first place in the National League West with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
