Jake Paul Announces Boxing Return, Amanda Serrano to Headline Event

Paul is apparently eager to get back into the ring following his latest knockout victory.

Jake Paul will return to the boxing ring early next year, and for the first time since 2020 he won’t feature in the card’s headlining bout.

“The Problem Child” opened 2023 with the first loss of his boxing career when he dropped a split decision to Tommy Fury in February. Paul rebounded from that setback by defeating former UFC title challenger Nate Diaz, and earlier this month the 26-year-old knocked out Andre August with a huge uppercut in the opening round of their matchup.

One of the major talking points around Paul heading into next year is when he intends to make his MMA debut in the PFL, but for now it appears he’s still focused on his boxing career and has announced his next fight will take place on March 2 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Aside from the fact that his opponent hasn’t been revealed yet, the most interesting part of Paul’s announcement is that he’ll be competing in the card’s co-main event before Amanda Serrano defends her featherweight titles against Nina Meinke.

Serrano went an impressive 3-0 during 2023 and defeated Heather Hardy on the main card of Paul vs. Diaz in August. “The Real Deal” also previously competed at both events where Paul fought former UFC champion Tyron Woodley in 2021, and earlier this year she signed on with Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions and also inked a deal with the PFL.

The announcement that both Paul and Serrano will return to the boxing ring in March does raise some questions about when fight fans may get to see them compete in the PFL, but given that they’re both expected to compete in the promotion’s “Super Fight” division there may be plans for the pair to debut later in 2024.
