AEW News: Former WWE Champion Due In Court For Trial Amid Criminal Charge
A court hearing one former champion under the WWE banner, who is a current AEW talent, has concluded.
AEW is scheduled for a Dynamite show tomorrow featuring a six-man tag team match with HOOK, Rob Van Dam, and Hangman Page taking on Swerve Strickland, Brian Cage, and the AEW World Champion Samoa Joe. While the promotion is busy preparing for another live TV show on TBS, one of its talents now knows his trial date.
The wrestler in question also must appear in court for the trial.

Cash Wheeler, one-half of FTR, will be required to appear in Orange County Court in Florida for a pretrial on May 7, with the trial officially beginning on May 20, per PWInsider. Wheeler faces criminal charges stemming from a 2023 road rage incident where the tag team wrestler allegedly flashed his gun in front of another party.
A plea of not guilty was entered by Wheeler's attorney. Cash, real name Daniel Wheeler, was arrested back in August 2023. Wheeler was released from jail shortly after and has been performing on AEW TV.
Wheeler is looking at a potential five-year prison sentence for aggravated assault with a firearm. Other potential consequences include five years' probation and a $5,000 fine.
