Bellator 301 Announces 2 Title Fights Amid Company Sale Rumor
Drew Beaupré
Any lingering speculation that the massive Bellator 300 event would be the promotion’s final show have been put to rest following the announcement that Bellator 301 will take place on November 17.
Many fans assumed a final sendoff was in order for the San Jose-based promotion when it was revealed that Bellator 300 in October would include a staggering four title fights. Rumors swirled around the promotion being up for sale, with the PFL being a potential buyer.
There has been discussion that the PFL might be close to finalizing a purchase of the rival organization, but it appears that Bellator will continue doing business until at least the end of this year after Ariel Helwani unveiled Bellator 301 on 'The MMA Hour' prior to the promotion officially confirming the event.

It may not be quite as stacked as Bellator 300, but the event at Chicago's Wintrust Arena will feature two title fights, with unbeaten Yaroslav Amosov defending his welterweight belt against Jason Jackson in the night’s headlining bout, and UFC veteran Sergio Pettis against interim bantamweight titleholder Patchy Mix in a title unification co-main event.
The Bellator 301 main card will also see former champion Patricky “Pitbull” Freire take on Alexander Shabily in the semifinals of the promotion’s lightweight tournament, as well as a rematch between top bantamweights Raufeon Stots and Danny Sabatello.
There still may be some questions around Bellator’s long-term future, but it certainly appears as if the promotion plans to close out the year on a high note with a pair of incredible events featuring some of the biggest names on the roster.
