Devin Haney is riding high inside the boxing ring, but outside of it he has run into an issue.

Haney certainly isn't the first name that comes to the mind of fight fans when it comes to legal problems. "The Dream" has done quite well representing himself outside of the ring, but the undisputed lightweight champion of boxing found himself in handcuffs on Thursday.

TMZ Sports reports that shortly after exiting Catch LA in Hollywood on Wednesday night going into Thursday morning, cops had Haney's vehicle pull over due to a lane change that was deemed "unsafe" and the driver failed to use a turn signal. Haney was not driving, although this was his vehicle.

Police allegedly found a semi-automatic handgun under the driver seat. In the vehicle, Haney was with his bodyguards and the driver. No one in the car took ownership of the gun. As a result, Haney was arrested for felony possession of a concealed weapon since the vehicle is registered to him.

Haney was released from jail at 8:12 a.m. ET local time after posting $35,000 bail.

It'll be interesting to see what the legal fallout of this will be. Haney has still been enjoying his victory over Vasiliy Lomachenko back in May. Many are wondering if Haney will stay at lightweight to face someone like Shakur Stevenson, or Gervonta "Tank" Davis, who is also going through his own legal woes.
