UFC 296: Chael Sonnen Reacts to Colby Covington Retirement Speculation
One UFC icon thinks there may be smoke to the Colby Covington retirement speculation.
Covington is set to challenge Leon Edwards for the UFC Welterweight Championship this Saturday night (December 16) at UFC 296. Some believe this will be Covington's final chance at becoming an undisputed UFC welterweight titleholder.
Others have gone as far as to speculate that "Chaos" will call it a career if he can't beat Edwards.

During a recent video uploaded on his YouTube channel, Chael Sonnen said that while he has a close relationship with Colby Covington, "Chaos" keeps certain matters private.
"I just don't know the answer to that question because there's been things in his career that he's even kept from me," Sonnen admitted. "I suppose the other side of that is I didn't ask."
Sonnen reminded viewers that Covington has been on the daily grind since he was a child.
"I don't know how badly or how interested he is in continuing every Saturday to go and compete with somebody, or on a lot of Saturdays, or often on Saturday. I mean, it's just something that he's done since he was eight years old."
Ultimately, Sonnen thinks that the rumblings surrounding Colby Covington's future might have some weight to them.
"I'm not convinced Colby's just fighting for a world championship," Sonnen said. "I think there's something bigger on the line here. I think it's possibly his career."
