Conor McGregor Reacts to Floyd Mayweather-John Gotti III Brawl
Conor McGregor has given his reaction to the melee between the teams of Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III.
Mayweather may have retired from pro boxing after his August 2017 win over McGregor, but he still competes. "Money" has now had seven exhibition boxing matches since retiring from the pro ranks. His latest exhibition bout with Gotti went off the rails.
FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR.'S FAMILY THREATENED AFTER JOHN GOTTI III BRAWL: "I'M COMING FOR YOUR DAUGHTER"
Mayweather and Gotti shared the ring inside the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida. Things were certainly going "Money's" way, but the two were really starting to get testy throughout the fight. Mayweather's trash talk clearly fired up Gotti, who kept ignoring referee Kenny Bayless' warnings of holding.
In the sixth round, Bayless had seen enough of the holding and called an end to the fight. The trash talk between Mayweather and Gotti resumed. Gotti then went after "Money" and the two started swinging. This led to a massive brawl between both the Mayweather and Gotti camps.
Gotti took to his Instagram account to call Mayweather an "enemy for life." He even gave a shout out to Conor McGregor. It appears the "Notorious" one caught wind of the mention from Gotti. In a since-deleted tweet, McGregor said the following:
"I back the Gottis," McGregor said. "The war is on."
It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for John Gotti after the incident at the FLA Live Arena. If nothing else, Gotti has certainly garnered the most attention he's ever received outside of being the grandson of notorious gangster John Gotti.
