John Gotti III has been suspended for his role in the post-fight melee between his team and Floyd Mayweather's camp.

The Florida State Athletic commission has responded to multiple inquiries from media outlets regarding the fallout of the Gotti-Mayweather brawl after their June 11 exhibition boxing match was stopped due to excessive holding on Gotti's end.

Gotti wasn't done fighting, despite the fact that referee Kenny Bayless stopped the fight in the sixth round. Gotti went after Mayweather anyway and the two swung at each other. This led to a massive brawl between both camps that spilled outside of the ring.

The Florida State Athletic Commission has revealed to multiple outlets such as TMZ and USA TODAY Sports that Gotti has been suspended for six months due to his role in the fracas. Mayweather has not received a punishment of any kind, likely due to Gotti making the approach post-fight. The Mayweather vs. Gotti exhibition match took place inside the FLA Live Arena in Sunrise, Florida.

The good news for all parties is that no injuries were reported coming out of the brawl.

While some have questioned the legitimacy of the Mayweather vs. Gotti melee, such as on-air hot take artists, there definitely seemed to be real fighting going on in the crowd between members of both teams.
